Connected Marietta Initiative

Welcome!

Marietta Mayor Josh Schlicher and other leaders in Washington County and Marietta College have launched the Connected Marietta Initiative, which will further expand downtown Marietta has a regional destination.

Previously known as "CROSS Marietta," the initiative will enhance downtown Marietta as a place to visit for work and leisure. We are focused on developing a list of projects that will improve traffic flow and encourage pedestrian activity.

This page contains up-to-date information about where we are in the study, what kinds of projects are emerging, and how we intend to implement these projects. Check back often for updates!

Public Survey

The City of Marietta, Downtown Marietta, Washington County, and Marietta College are collaborating on Connected Marietta, a study to identify needed infrastructure improvements in Marietta's core business district.  Survey #2 seeks public feedback on concepts developed based on past planning efforts and responses from Survey #1. Survey #2 responses will also be used to develop a preliminary list of proposed projects for RAISE and other transportation funding opportunities.

With your help, we can…

Continue to grow downtown Marietta and make it easier to visit for all modes of transportation.

Identify road projects to improve traffic flow.

Determine sidewalk and trail opportunities to make the area more inviting for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Examine investments and urban design elements that will enhance downtown Marietta.

About the Project

The Connected Marietta Initiative combines the City’s recent comprehensive planning process, active transportation plan, and Enrich Marietta downtown plan, as well as other plans and studies the City has completed.

We are taking those plans and studies one step further to identify potential projects and ways to implement them.
